The dent man has been then!

Thats just not good but as said i would have thought if it was a dent with filler on it would have cracked as you dented it.
As said one of those things but its called paintless dent removal for a reason!!:mad:
It will get sorted Dave im sure our friendly painter will oblidge

To be honest a magnet would still pull through a very slim coat of filler as that appears to be, but as said you would have thought it wouldn't have "dented" just there.

Tony.

Bad luck Dave but keep your chin up things cant get any worse surely
Bad luck, but, it's only metal. No body hurt. Can be fixed.

Can't argue with that sentiment Ian, my old boss from years ago always used to say that "You can always get by with paying" pretty true as a rule.

Tony.

Bad luck Dave, I suppose theres always a chance any dent being pushed out can flake. It would have to have been pushed out even if being sprayed so no loss really. Keep your chin up mate

A good Paint depth guage would have told him the difference between the top coat and the metal underneath. If there was a big enough difference between the surrounding areas then leave well alone.
Would have thought this was standard equipment for a dent guy to give him an idea of what the paint history is.
I have one and sometimes it's best to walk away from an area so as not to cause more problems....I would not go near any paint without knowing what it's all about.

Hell of a lot of people in the car world just don't have the right equipment to do the job...

Only just seen this Grumps.
I love your Z and one of them little spoilers will hide that I reackon Dave, stick on job like Tony had on his Z3, help get you round corners quicker to:whistle:, also gives you something to get hold of when slamming the boot:mad:. " What the eye doesn't see the heart doesn't grieve." Hope you haven't paid the man. On a positive note the car is still drivable and the cars little filled dent looks like you've got the problem in hand. It's still a lovely Z, the dent don't mean jack s..t and if I were you I wouldn't be fazed by it one little bit.;) Just between me and you, I've got a bigger one than you.:bag: ( under the spoiler hidden by the L/H leg)
Roy.

Have less porridge and stop slamming the bootlid man!

You'd think you were a truck driver or something being able to whack it that hard, it's not likes it's soft bootlid or anything!

I haven't mate, there was no cracking around it at all. The dent was my own fault, the boot wasn't catching well for a while and I was having to slam it to get it to shut. One to many slams and I dented the lid. It had crossed my mind to be honest.
My boot lid is the same mate, very slightly out of kilter. Found a way to close as normal by putting very slight pressure to the right and closes as normal.

It closes easily now mate but pops open when your driving. Ask @Antm72 he witnessed it first hand lol.

:wideyed: that's less than ideal mate! On the upside think of the down force that would create (aka Escort RS Cosworth) you could really press hard in the corners mate =))

I concur, I shut it for you when we were on the Euro cruise
