Nearly ready to install the the middle rear stowage bin complete with woofer in box with the additional 2inch port facing forward, this port has caused me no end of hassle trying to fit it so that I can just pull the front off and remove the box complete out the top without removing all the attached interior, tried all manor of ways and ended up with a push fit port/facia connection to the box so can take it out easily. Just hope it doesn't rattle or I'll end up fixing it permanent.
Next job is mounting amp and wiring under centre tunnel, that's for another day.

Had to go buy some PU 38 fill in the lock and push button holes, haven't used body filler in years.

At last, nearly ready to put it all back.
What a pig of a job, looks good and am pleased the wife made me take a break from it when I was getting nowhere with the front port. Yes I am pleased that I had a go just to prove to myself and others than it can be done, fingers crossed it sounds OK, thanks go to @Susan central coast USA for putting the diagram up for anyone who wanted to try and build their own.

Rha, Roy.

Maybe the white cover of the speaker is too white? I believe black, beige or grey will look better. Great work Roy!

Mate, you have done an awesome job, I love what you have done to the front panel. I put the amp in the boot.... under the rear parcel tray behind the seats, where the soft top folds into there is a hole for wiring to go through on both sides. By the way.... I'm an Aussie, not an American ;)

Looks great Roy you should be really pleased .i would agree that the speaker grill may look better black more in keeping with the black/beige theme the car has running , but looks quality and you should be giving yourself a huge pat on the back.:scorecard:

Susan!!!! What can I say???? Feel terrible for not looking to make sure, hope I've done your instructions proud. The only mistake I made was not trying the box in befor glueing it all together cos I used 16mm MDF witch made it really tight to the point I had to take 5mm off the depth to relieve the stress on the back of the OEM housing.
Thanks again and I'm glad your an Aussie ( ten yrs in the forces they called me Ausi as my surname is Austin) so cheers from one Aussie to another. ;) (Have to find the aforementioned wiring holes, thanks for that tip.)

Hi Ant, still waiting for delivery of silver with black mesh grill from USA, this white one is borrowed from a mate just to see what it's like finished. Had to cancell one lot of wireing off eBay and re ordered from another company hoping that will be here this week, may get the amp in situ this W/E if I'm not fitting another floor like last W/E, can't make plans for doing other work for my daughters, son in laws need to step up and lean how to DIY. Being retired has its disadvantages, everyone thinks you got all the time in the world which you should have.

TOP job Roy, well beyond me. I would agree with the colour of the cover, but you've got that in hand. Hope the results are what you're hoping for mate.!!

Thanks Tony, hope the sound quality was worth it, would have been a lot further on if my time was my own, but then you know all about that anyway.

Got the speaker box into the car this afternoon. Like the look but shame my grill hasn't arrived, but with the borrowed one at least I can see the finished item. Not looking forward to the wiring. Some pics taken a couple of hours ago.
