Well today I got let off a shopping trip cos I fitted (made 2) sawn to size kitchen cupboard doors last W/E, so I grabbed my tool kit and set about the sub woofer box top.

All the creases are hinden down the sides but I know their there. How the apolsterers do it I'll never know, was dreading it but it turned out ok just.

Still a lot to do, been let down by EBay delivery of RCAs. Have a Kenwood Amp to mount in the boot and a 2inch tube port to somehow fix to front where the oddments box is missing, which Zedonist reckons will give me a little more bass in the car with the top down as the speaker is pointing up. Off to the plumbers shop tomorrow to see what I can find. I've seen how the HK port System works and not really impressed but it has given me some idea how I might do it.

Are you using vinyl or leather @Rah? If vinyl try heating slightly with a hair dryer will shrink the creases! HTH JIM

Thanks Jim didn't think of that and maybe she'll let me use it and I'll let you know, hated doing the vinyl cos I knew I would be out of my depth not having any success in the past, thank god it's done and maybe it will pass limited inspection.
Roy.

Vinyl always looks rough initially Roy, I've had the same when having had car seat covers off the repair locks etc. but you'll be amazed how much better it looks after being left alone for a while without any interference, the stretches soon contract.:)

Was dreading doing it Tony, that's why I left it so long after making the top.

For those worried about wrinkled corners the solution is to pull out the sewing machine and make a fitted cover! Pretty easy to do and really adds the pro look. JIM

No sewing machine in this house Jim, did all my own sewing in the forces, wife's never had to even sew a button on for me in 45yrs of marriage but I wouldn't like to sew yards of fabric by hand Jim and that's a fact. =))
