After seeing Susan's post and pattern a little while ago I found myselfe in B&Q buying what I could remember on the list that I didn't already have, 6mm MDF and a length of quadrant £13, all the rest I already had except for the leather/ vinyl covering and foam which I'll have to sauce. Lots of hand sawing and 53 screws later and here's where I'm at.

Fingers crossed it'll fit. Purchased a PYLE 6.5 mid bass woofer which I know won't give me loads of bass but will help the Hertz package I've just installed, will have to sauce a small amp to run this one.

Already Deaf, been to the Docs 4 times in the last 3wks for it, all this time she said I've been ignoring her and now it might turn out that I've been victimised. Hoping they might be able to sort it so then I can really ignor her.=))

Hugh I've been neglecting the wife's list these last few months and getting into to trouble making time for the Z jobs, so even though I'd really love to come over to see your farm and help out a bit ( and drive your tractor ) I've had my leave cancelled for the near future, having said that your defo on my list to visit when the good weather finally arrives.
Roy.

Keep us posted - can't wait to see the finished job! Great work!

PS I see you have plenty of toilet tissue in stock just in case you get 'bogged' down in your work!

Looking great Roy ...watching with interest
Keep watching Ant but be warned I'm no carpenter and have gone round it with wood filler since the post, also got the clear silicone gun out and did all internal joints just to give it that bit more solidness just hope now that it fits ok cos it'll be a PITA if I have to make any alterations, should've gone round my lockup to try it, oh well fingers crossed. The hard bit will be covering it with the leather or maybe have to use vinyl then the wiring it in. (Don't hold your breath. Bloody weather holds me back.:bored:

Roy;)

Talking of BOGGS???????=))
Can't believe someone spotted them David, (at least I hid the OAP nappies=)))
We buy in bulk from Costco, well my daughter does for their business so you can guess how we come to have them;).
Are we going to see you on our patch this year or have we to come over to you. Never been yet and hope to see your lovely country before it's too late for me. So many more things to do since joining .org.!!!!

Regards. Roy.

I have a similar box I bought ready made (3rd hand!) (I think the chap whose made it was called Doobie on another forum).
It has small JL 6inch sub but it works very well. The quality of the amp is critical. I'm running an Alpine mono/subwoofer only amp for it and it's great. Never expected that much thump from a 6inch.

Ps nice wood work!
I suggest cladding it in roof flashing after (not the butyl stuff but the grey coloured non nasty kind). It will give it a snug fit and provide padding so you have not rattle.
I ended up lining the inside of the plastic panels that now house my Hertz rear speakers just to eliminate any rattle. Bass makes things rattle!

Just a thought Roy is it not possible to make the mass of the box a tad smaller and fit the sub in the front face rather than the top you can the use the original lid of the box rather than having to trim and either try and go oem on the front grill like a H.K system or find a nice speaker grill for the front face i think the fit and finish would be nicer with the same gain ?
