Coffee, biscuits, soft drinks and front of house hospitality all have costs that need to be recouped.

I'd happily go without any of that for a sensible price.

I have a free coffee and biscuit every time I go to buy spares from my local BMW dealer. ( and once when I only called in to order a part :))
With the cost of the spares .....they can afford it !!

It's a "life style" thing apparently. They no longer sell cars, they sell "joy". Totally beyond me. Putting a M badge on a 1.8 diesel gives extra "joy". I think I am losing the will to live!!:)

Their marketing people are endlessly trying to find ways of getting you to part with your cash. For many it’s experience that matters and they know that. These videos are just an example of how they can con lots by giving the impression that a minor issue is a critical problem and that your car is going to fall apart at the side of the road if you don’t let them fix it there and then.
Many will fall for it. For some - Having any fault on their car whatsoever is a personal failure and black mark against them.

Fewer people are savvy enough or have the skills and knowledge to see through this hype.

The upside is that some of us know how to keep our hard earned cash in our own pocket.
