hot glue gun is a great idea, i was going to suggest super glue but heat glue is even better

possibly tony, but the screws and heat glue ideas are for holding the parts while dipping and not for reattaching the parts, but yes i supose a soldering iron could be used to re-attach them, good idea.

We use that method on a lot of Seat bumpers mate but unfortunately there will not be enough plastic left on these, you can see that the full top needs to be removed

Cross wires mate, I did think you meant using screws to re-attach, good idea for dipping thanks

I used a similar idea to handle my front splitters when painting them so it would work here for dipping.

Hot glue gun works well to reattach them to the door cards, did this with mine.

I didn't think you be be able to but them Ant, I think I will see how it all comes together and then maybe treat myself to one, the progress is too slow so I am going to bring the passenger seat home tomorrow so I can get stuck in during the evening.

Had a bit of time today so got back on the drivers seat, took the back cover off only to discover the same problem as the base, the heater pad is burn't out, these seats are really becoming a labour of love, both covers are now ready to take to the upholsterers to have the new bolsters sewn in.

I used after market heater pads to fix the problems with mine they work out cheaper and can be cut to fit due to their design.
The seat cushion part number i believe is

@Antm72 , Gave BMW a call today and the price is £110 + Vat, they have to come direct from Germany, so I ordered 2, thought I may as well get one for the wife as well,

The passenger seat is well on its way, most of the leather paint is off but needed to remove the base cover as the bolster had collapsed and there was also some bumps in the cover,
This is the cause of the bumps, not sure what it is but its under the heater, you can clearly see what was causing the problem, easy fix with a hot gun

Well I'm supposed to be on holiday this week but the dye and top coat arrived so I just had to go in and give it a go, I had the door cards ready, all the previous top coat had been removed so the leather became porous, the first 2 coats need putting on with a sponge so they soak in, needless to say I was a bit disappointed at this stage.
This is after 2 coats and this stuff is £16 per 250ml

Got the mini spray gun out and gave them 3 light coats of dye, then 1 coat of super seal followed by 2 coats of satin finish and I have to say they look fantastic and the finish looks like new, can't wait to get stuck into the seats now.
