Well worth a look at that price Bryan, coming from a dealer you will have some protection.

MOT history on this one makes interesting reading, just the usual advisories one would expect, nothing too bad that would ring alarm bells. Some of the things listed where it failed on a couple of occassions are things you would expect an owner to attend to before putting it in for a test, so mabe previous owner(s) were not so hot on maintaining it.

It’s just 100% better than mine and works out cheaper than me buying new parts to get mine upto that standard.

Aslong as it’s as good as it looks

No surprise to me at all. If a car comes in for test with the old cert. and advisory items on I always look and almost everyone they still haven't been rectified. Makes you wonder why you bother.

You could get more braeaking yours I reckon.
Sports interior with Centre console and door cards is around 1k alone.
The wheels are very desirable.
Facelift headlights sell for good money.
Hi have the clear lense twilights which are quite scarce and also go for good money,
Roll hoops etc.
Lots of cosmetic bits that are desirable on the 2.2

Might even be able to sell the rolling shell for a few hundred as a drift car as it as the LSD fitted..

I was at Enfield auction this week inhailing exhaust fumes.

A very tatty 2.2 in grey went through, 80 odd thousand, not a nice car, not a sport, had damage on just about every panel, wing mirror hanging off etc....

It made £1450 under the hammer, and there would have been a couple of hundred in fees on top of that.

So please ask a little more than 1k for yours, worth more than that in bits.

Looks like a unmolested one owner car with reasonable mileage. Has to be worth a look!:)

I’ll give the guy a ring tomorrow and try to view.

Mine needs more that what it would cost me to put the extra after selling mine to buy this one. With the rust etc it has and all the other things it needs to put it right.

Plus it has no history at all

Interesting , I have advisory's I then discuss it with the garage owner [always use same independent] regarding them.
He normally says to leave them for now , keep an eye on them car is doing about 2,500miles per year.
Its based on his advice if rectified or not ,he is a lot more knowledgeable than me.

I wonder if the dealer might take your car in part exchange? All things being equal, a £2K ish swap over? Just a thought, good luck.

Understood, but if it's worth circa £1K as a breaker, the dealer might have some room for manoeuvre, just a thought.

I doubt it. It needs around 2k spending on it
I suspect the dealer would indeed only offer around £1k in part exchange. At £3k his car looks cheap so he would value proportionately.

Don't forget @Sp02zbr just because it looks nice doesn't mean to say it hasn't got hidden issues. And even if it is as good as it looks, by the time you've done the normal sensible stuff like water pump/thermostat, possibly new brake discs/pads etc there might be a few hundred to spend anyway.

I wouldn't hang around going to look at it btw as we are now in peak selling season. If we get dry/warmer/sunny weather at the weekend (it is forecast...) that might bring people out. Prices have been on the rise since Christmas and that is looking like a well priced car at the best of times and even more so now.

The mileage would possibly put some people off. But if the car checks out you can give that the benefit of the doubt as it's not that high for these engines. And the big thing it has going for it is 1 owner who has hopefully bestowed a good service regime upon it.

However doggy your current car is you should get £1,500 for it and quite possibly the £2,000 I think you said you paid for it. Just remember there are a lot of jokers on ebay who buy then disappear or turn up and bargain you down. Autotrader and Gumtree tend to have more reliable buyers. But if you fancy chancing your arm with an open auction on ebay you may be pleasantly surprised how the bidding goes.
