Earlier I had a go at trying to help the spring back of the driver side safety belt on my car. It's been (very) sluggish. Turns out you can see the belt roll if you remove the clip-on plate on the inside of the roll hoops.
With a can of WD40 with the long plastic tube insert, I manage to JUST about reach on the two side of the 'roll' and spray some lubricant there, and 'exercised' the spring for a little while, and wow, it helped a lot! I was worried I would have to take down the whole roll hoops to access it (and I probably should, to clean it properly) but here I had an instant fix to a rather annoying problem
