Event Shropshire Mini Cruise April 28th 2019

Thought I had a wedding to go to that weekend but turns out it's on Saturday so count me in for the cruise

Went over the Horseshoe pass a couple of weeks back in the dark without knowing, came back over it a couple of days later roof down, clear skies and it was an awesome road. Hopefully that's part of the route.

Hi Tony, please can you add The Mints to your list. It's been sometime since we were over that way. Be good to see it again.

Thanks for the offer Bozzy, if you do lead a group I expect it will have the Mints riding shotgun. When I have finalised the run I will put it on myroute and it will definitely feature the Horseshoe Pass with a stop at the Ponderosa Cafe at the top.

Only if Barnsley has relocated to Shropshire Paul. SY4 4HE is Ellerdine Heath in bandit country round here.
Apologies put Royal Oak and post code sent me to the royal oak Barnsley

Booked in to the Old School B&B Shawbury. Hope its close by;)

@Lazzzydog If you would like me to promote your event on our Zorg facebook page please let me know and I will sort it

Hi and thanks for the offer but I will be happy with the turnout that this forum generates. Keep it small but beautifully formed just like me.
:hohoho:

just looking at premier inn shrewsbury for sunday night. going to book it in the next few days.... been away from the forum for a few weeks got a lot of other stuff to sort at moment but will keep an eye on progress. looking forward to start of the season again...

Al, Ang...

Not able to participate this year its my on call week, enjoyed last years hope you all have a good time.

I have had some bad news from the pub I was hoping to eat at on the Saturday night. They have been selected for an organised day long pub crawl involving nine pubs and nine coachloads of boozers so cannot serve meals that night. I do not think we would want to be there either.
I do have another good pub in mind that is not too far away serving English food but will be dearer for the meals or just down the road is a country pub serving decent beer and excellent curries. Get your votes if you have a preference.

Really dont mind either way

My first choice would be the curry. If nobody objects I will check them out for that date.

Hmmmm, not long had a new-to-me-zed, just working out this forum thing. Realised this is at the end of a short holiday (gardening, might need the break!), with Herself away in France with work.

Is it too late to add a Newbie ? And I'll fit in with accomo / meals / stops / whatever. Tell me where to go, where to sleep, where to eat etc and I'll do that ! Except, well, curry !

Almost certainly just me, unless I can get an (adult) Offspring to enjoy the ride (and one of them has borrowed it now, while her own car is being fixed). Hey ! It was supposed to be MY 'spare' car !

Welcome Alenod to the forum from just down the road in Donny, sure Tony @Lazzzydog will be along soon to welcome you and invite you along. Hopefully see you at some events throughout the year

You are on the list AleNod. Congratulations on picking the least well organised meet up for your first outing. At the moment I only have a provisional route in my head and the pub I wanted to use for the Saturdayevening meal is too busy that night to feed us! I will get my finger out and finalise the route and the venue for food in the next few days. If you are a definite for coming I will book another pub locally that does English grub.
Look for a b&b anywhere around a triangle of Market Drayton, Whitchurch and Shrewsbury as the meal will be near Shawbury and the start point on the Sunday is near Whitchurch. Maybe liase with Paul Rice on that but be aware that the meal is NOT near Crewe this year.
Keep your eye on this thread for updates over the next couple of weeks and welcome to the madhouse.
