Hmmmm, not long had a new-to-me-zed, just working out this forum thing. Realised this is at the end of a short holiday (gardening, might need the break!), with Herself away in France with work.

Is it too late to add a Newbie ? And I'll fit in with accomo / meals / stops / whatever. Tell me where to go, where to sleep, where to eat etc and I'll do that ! Except, well, curry !

Almost certainly just me, unless I can get an (adult) Offspring to enjoy the ride (and one of them has borrowed it now, while her own car is being fixed). Hey ! It was supposed to be MY 'spare' car !
:welcome: Golden rule of Zed ownership ...DONT lend it to the kids :nailbiting::nailbiting: they use all your fuel, don't wash it and never want to bring it back.. Do what I do, let them admire it ....................from a distance.:D:D

I wouldn't want to lend my Dad's, would ruin my street cred driving round in that thing. I remember he once lent me his Z4 alloys, I gave them back eventually just with a little less tread on the tyres

@gookah are you going on to this again this year?

Trudat - you must be clairvoyant ! She brought it back, took The Mrs for lunch, got dropped off at home, and then The Mrs got it washed on the way back ! And its a quarter tank down . . .

Hey ! Who's car IS this ? Something wrong with this picture . . . Everyone benefits except me ! (feeling abused)

Excellent, you’re in colb. I am waiting on a menu from a country pub which should be a fixed price for 2 courses of either starter and main or main and pudding, I am expecting to hear this week.

Booked in to the Old School B&B Shawbury. Hope its close by;)
Paul, I owe you one. I'd somehow left it a bit late, intending to book the Rectory in Wem - now only a family suite left, £160 - Eeek ! As it seems it may now just be me, thats a tad rich. Looked at your one, great ratings, last room, £42 including breakfast. YES ! Click-click-click-click - QUICK ! Before it changes its mind ! So I'll see you and any others at breakfast before setting off . . .

I'd meant to reply to your other welcome message as well, we're not far away from each other. I've been out most weekends, in this last pleasant spell I've spent the last 2 weekends finding nice roads in the Derbyshire Peaks. Maybe not this weekend tho'. Should maybe try and get our paths to cross when the weather improves again . . .

Holmfirth is 5 miles from home.Oil can ? I could also come down and tag on the back where you come off the M1 somewhere ? I'm usually using J37 but you'll probably use J35a ? And getting to J35a - I LIKE that road !

Saturday Night Meal.
I have started a new thread in the Events section for the proposed Saturday evening pre run get together and meal. Details are in the first post and the pub has a website if you want to browse the menu and get an idea of the place before committing. I have been recently and it is a down to earth country pub serving decent food in good sized portions at reasonable prices. The beer is good as well and the staff are friendly. I am just asking for confirmation that you are attending in the first instance and I will take food pre orders in due course.I am proposing 18.30 arrival to sit down at 19.00 but the pub is open all day so you can turn up as early as you like.
Although the pub is normally dog friendly in the top bar they do not allow dogs at all between 18.00 Saturday to 15.00 Sunday.
Be there or be square!

I will be posting the route tomorrow and I am pretty pleased with it, if I do say so myself! Lol
We go past the McCain stables that were home to Red Rum, the Kellogg’s factory near Wrexham, through Llangollen and up the Horseshoe Pass to our Lunch stop at the top at the Ponderosa Cafe.
After lunch we drop down the other side of the Pass and head for Bala then skirt the edge of Snowdonia National Park dropping down a sensational valley on our way back to a rest stop at Nesscliffe Services on the A5 where anyone who wants to break off for home can say cheerio.
I will be asking for meal choices from those attending the meal on Saturday night so please take a look at the online menu for The Dog in the Lane.
It’s not too late to join in the run or the meal.
Cheers
Tony.
