First proper recce of route for September 2nd. Taking in a new landmark in Lincoln if all goes well.
Tell you later how it goes.

Tony.

Nice day for it mate, enjoy .

Gorgeous weather for a run out Steve.
Headed out towards Newark this time just "off the cuff" no ideas as yet. Ended up out near Grantham back through the villages into Lincoln through town out to by pass. No stop sorted yet. Just shy of 50 miles and 1.5 hours. A good starting point. Need to do some homework on the landmark thing.

Tony.

I hope you have worked out where to put the ' signs' for @Grumps this year too.... =))

Work in progress Paul.

Tony.

Looks good so far Tony  bit of an idea where you are ;)

Looking forward to it already Tony and, unlike Toby, I have no idea which roads you are on.You certainly picked a great day for your research! :)

A different view of Cotham power station which is across the River Trent near the White Swan.

Good work co-pilot. Did you find your way round ok without the tour organiser? :D

Just about mate. Missed you though.

Tony.

Recce - Take 2. It would appear that it was a day for car enthusiasts of all marques to enjoy the sun today. We met various types of cars all around our 2nd. run round the Sept. 2nd cruise route.
There was however a Minor hold up, or two even. Also a BMW 2002? and a Vauxhall VX490.

We called in at the IBCC and paid £3 to park and had a look round. We realise that on the 2nd. there won't be time to have a look around the centre but we are happy to pay £3 to park for a few minutes to take some pictures as it a very good cause. How do you all feel about it please?

Some views of the site behind the centre.

The charge is £3 per car not per person and the parking charge helps to cover cost of site maintenance.

Tony.

ps. After the event you may want to go and have a proper look, I'm happy to arrange a day to visit?

I think the photo opportunity and the chance to support a good cause is a definite win/win scenario. It gets my vote Tony!

I'm sure anyone not agreeable could always park up in the Premier Inn, or tend a few bits of veg in the area, while they wait ?

Well, I was hoping for the kind of comments you guys are saying to me. Because it saves me having to arrange groups where someone doesn't want to visit the IBCC.:)

Tony.

Cheers Paul. Looks like you had a good day today mate.:)

Tony
