Not a whole lot further west than where we were =)).
But got 2 good solid trains of thought for next year.
One slightly more ambitious got to be honest that's probably the one leaning towards as it has a hotel I like that I know is good and I've never been to where day 1 would go .:)
Way out west would be nice. It's more than a weekend too. Maybe even a week.

All the ferry places had been booked until 1300, so we took the long route to Glenfinnan. We just missed a steam train (not Hogwart's Express) crossing the viaduct. Drove through the fog above Invergarry...
Which ferry was fully booked?

Thanks again to Steve and Lynne for organising the weekend. As promised here are a few of my photos. I've tried not to replicate ones already posted but I'm sure there will some similar
Till another time....
The lakeside picture. Stick those on a postcard. And the Z's too. Pleasure meeting you.

I feel slightly embarrassed and think that I might have to hand in my M card. I managed to get 35.9mpg from Fort William to Glasgow.

The whole trip was 26.1mpg. The Skye day was 23.7mpg and Applecross was 21.9mpg - much more like how it should be :wacky:

@bertiejaffa and I will remember Applecross Day as Red Van Man Day . I'd love to see Bertie's dashcam of the event.

I don't know how long the sound will stay on the video as it has music that may become muted...

Ha ha - he really wasn’t happy. I love how he also tried to keep up for a few metres =))

Hi, all....

Just want to say thanks - we had a brilliant weekend despite a sad end to it and if that was the end for my car then at least I know it went out in a blaze of glory chase Pingu across some of the most beautiful roads in the country.

I will be back in one form or another

Cheers Bert

Sad end to a great car mate, but it can be replaced. As long as you and your son were not injured, that is all that really matters.

Tony.

@bertiejaffa ... I'm sorry to hear and see the aftermath involving your Z... I'm glad to hear that you are both OK. As @t-tony says, the car can be replaced. I hope the insurance people are playing nicely.

Thanks all for the comments... just working with the insurance at the moment to finalise next steps - thankfully they’re honouring the agreed valuation I took out. Well worth the few extra quid for piece of mind.

WRT the car itself there is a very good chance it will drive again one way or another.... just working with a couple of forum members on finalising a long term plan.... watch this space!!

In the meantime, I’ve narrowed it down to these 3 as immediate replacement options. Please let me know if anyone knows them or if anyone is based locally to the last 2!!
