I’ve been out in the garden today and it has been difficult to see the difference between now and normal times. I have counted upwards of 250 vehicles of all types going both ways. Many if not most have 2 people in them.

Tony.

I've just driven from Portsmouth to Truro and the traffic heading west is very very light. I haven't seen a single caravan or any cars laden with bikes or surf boards.
The A30 from M5 Jtn 31 at Exeter to our place is the quietest I've known it. There was noticeably more traffic when I went to work on Monday but today it's dead quiet. Hopefully people are heeding the warnings

They don’t seem to be around here sadly.

Has it got that bad that you're sat in the garden counting cars? ;)

We live on a fairly busy thoroughfare and yes there is traffic but I'd say a 1/4 of the usual amount.

It’s been quite busy here too :(
I’ve been in the garden most of the day and I can hear the traffic going by :(

Had someone I know on facebook complain that there were 3 miles of congestion on the A30 due to caravans, but, traffic maps don't reflect that. Am sure that Cornwall Police would be turning traffic back anyway after statements over recent dates. Can't imagine any caravan getting very far before being pulled up by police tbh.

Had to take my son to his place to pick up some computer hardware in Leicester (legitimate work related reason - he's supporting health care in Scotland and Wales). Traffic was light but still higher than I expected. Not the deserted roads you see in London. Is it really that quiet or is it just the city?
That said, I walk the dog briefly last thing. On recent evenings it has been completely quiet - no traffic heard from the M69 about a mile away, from the M6 five miles away or even on local roads. No aircraft either - Normally see 5 or 6 in the sky at any one time.
Night before last I could hear an owl hooting - must have been some distance away too. Never ever been able to do that from home before.
Go stick your head out the door late on and you might also hear something unusual that you've never noticed before

My boy phoned today to say police were on roundabouts , sliproads ,stopping cars coming into the county today , he was in next county Carmarthenshire on work related business in works van so he was not stopped , he did say roads weren't to busy

Been hearing Cock pheasants later in the evenings and after dark there are Dog foxes making their presence known. The swans are on the lake and field everyday now still feeding up. I also heard an Owl a couple of nights ago.

From Portsmouth I took M27, A35, A31 and A30 from Honiton and it was really quiet. I left Pompey 10am and was home 2.30pm. It usually takes at least an hour longer.
There wasn't a big police presence but they were parked in laybys every few miles or so.

If tourists do manage to evade the police there isn't anywhere for them to go because all campsites and touring sites should be closed

Saw a Police car come past towards Gainsborough this morning blues and twos and later a Police motorcyclist followed a car down the A1133 and was shaping up to stop it.

This might be what people are referring to

Perhaps the ZedShed is now on a list of 'famous sights to see'

This long weekend will be the acid test, if people dont play ball the Police Force (it's not a service), shall enforce the law to the great unwashed. Listened to the Chief Constable for Northants (a bit of a legend and well respected guy and ex RN). They're ready to start properly clamping down.

It's been crazy round here today, the main road has been as busy as before lockdown. Essential journeys? Essential morons more like.....

After people prove they can't be trusted over the weekend, I'm guessing that Tuesday's press briefing will be a further couple of weeks extension of the lockdown and tightening of the restrictions removing the allowed exercise time.
