Latest but best as yet update.
After 16mths I've finally wired the sub plus two amps, one Alpine in line amp and one Bass face db4.2 both under the passenger dashboard. Bass Face where the passenger airbag would normally be located, not equipped in my Z.
YES it sounds great, the extra bass from between the seats fills the much needed lack of bass from the rear.
The cabin now feels complete sound wise, although I ve toned it down somewhat as I'm not a big fan of too much bass, BBC classical brings a whole new meaning of music in my hood up environme, not been able to test it hood down but I'm anticipating same boost. Just one neg to this fitting of amp under passenger dashboard and that is a very stiff right side neck muscle which no over the counter pills can cope with, and that's not including a bruised back. Shame the stiffness isn't elswere where it might do some good.
.
Yep, it's been a experience but I'm not doing any more wireing anytime soon, hate it.
Come have a listen next time you see me.

Bass Face amp nice and small ready to go up under dash in air bag location. Proper pig when you've never done any ICE fit in yer life. 30amp power wire from slave/jump start under bonnet fused down to 15amp.

Power taken from under bonnet slave point is so much easier than routing it through from battery in boot.
