What? An Esprit that doesn't go bang after 20k? Can't be done, mate.
One of my bosses from many years back had one, decided it needed to ventilate its own crankcase after 20 something thousand, well serviced and maintained, and a car like that shoulodn't go bang on the A2. But it did. Mid-engined cars ain't easy to work on, that's for sure.

Knob-in-law had one of those years ago, right piece of junk, hell of a money pit.

Tony.

Ex brother-in-law had one, A48 JEX in silver, loved it. It did go bang though as you say.

What about a new Vauxhall Chevette!

That's one re-make that could never be worse than the original because they were never any good in the first place!

How can you say that Keith, in the words of GM "The Vauxhall Chevette its what ever you want it to be"

Except if two of those words were "good" and "reliable". :D

I bought a brand new Jamaica Yellow Chevette "L" in August 1978, my first new car, I was 21yrs old and got it at the completion of a 4yr apprenticeship. I kept it for 9 years and never put a spanner on it except for normal servicing.
It cost me £2785. I was going to buy a Mk2 Escort L, but the Vauxhall garage gave me £250 more for my old Fiat 128 and it swung the deal

I seem to recall that it was Citroen who used that slogan for their GS …... "The Citroen GS is what ever you want it to be" although I could be wrong as I regularly am =))

Must have poached it. Worked for a short time for Vauxhall in the early eighties when they used it.
Was on a par with Chrysler " Put a Chrysler Sunbeam in your life, it will put a smile on your face" Sung by Pertula Clark
