Retro Re-makes.

I have a soft spot for the Reliant Scimitar. Have had a SE5a and SE6a in years gone by. Last one was 20 years ago, so may now be a total disappointment. Perhaps somethings are best left in the past!:D

Funny that the XJS is listed, wasn't liked when new. Must admit a convertible XJS (red with cream interior) a dream car of mine
Had a 5.3 V12 XJS Paul. It was an absolute crock of.........

That 2002 looks :scorecard:

An old mate of mine used to have an MBG roadster and a Jensen Healey roadster, cars that I lusted over when I was a yoof. I wouldn't swap either of my zeds for either of those cars now.

That's very true mate. Was never a dream to own one just sort of happened. Great to drive as a cruiser but full of problems.
I had a few Jags, mainly XJ6's. My favourite was a XJR 4.0 supercharged. Just a stunning car, I loved that car, Jue always said she felt like a princess in it. :)

That's the bit where you are supposed to say "you look like a princess in anything dearest"

I always fancied one of these old Rovers

ROVER P5.webp

My father bought a one owner P5 Rover when we were kids from a rich lady. Only thing wrong with it was a scratch on the windscreen where her diamond rings had rubbed against it, so the story goes! Seem to recall it did 15 mpg on a good day.:)

Shirl's dad had two of these, a blue F reg. and a maroon L reg. (I think) which had a cream leather interior. He bought this as a write off which had been rolled several times at only a few months old. Reg repaired that car and when I saw the pictures of the condition it was in I would never have thought it possible.
However, in early 1980 when we got wed this was to have been our wedding car but it wanted the sills repainting but Reg being Reg he decided he would fit new sill panels and ended up burning the car and his business to the ground a few days before the wedding. A terrible end to a great car.

Argghh the bank managers car of it's day. They did it in a 3dr coupe as well.
Such a shame when you see that beautiful car and look at the shower of s*** they ended up building. No wonder they went pop.

I've had 4 SD1's 3 x 3.5's and a 2600, the only problem I had with them was my right foot :ymdevil:
