Fair point. But then why didn’t they ask for Atlanta Blue if that’s what they meant by ‘German’.

And what’s German anyway? BMW do plenty of weird colours these days. Which I love btw :)
I agree just reading between the lines. Yes, I did wonder what was meant by "German" myself? o_O

I would volunteer my M44 1.9 but the car is camera shy, and currently is in bits anyway as I am adding roll hoops.

Assuming it beats it, there fairly close on performance, the m44 would have around 20 extra ponies, question is though how well the motors have kept them in there stables.

Do they need a pre or post facelift model? Seeing that the shoot would be with a MKII MX-5, I would have thought it would be a post facelift M43??

What is it with everyone & critising my wheels???

I love my wheels & yes, they are original!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY WHEELS!!!
I absolutely adore the pepperpot wheels for the early Z3s.

If anything, I think it's the wheel style that works best with the narrow bodies.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the wheels though did I? And I'm not sure why you'd think that as I complimented the car and was sympathetic that you were snubbed by the magazine.

But they only came in 15" which is why many people change them as they look a little small in the wheel arch. The point was you'd resisted that temptation to keep the car original.

not at all, infact the donor car needs to have them too as they stick like proverbial to the blanket., I found no wheels handle as well as the original 15in peppers, I have swapped mine tons of times even with the correct off sets there still not as stable as the original wheels.
whether this has anything to do with the taller sidewalls or the E36 it was based on had 15s im not sure.

I really like the pepper pot wheels, they remind me of the ones on early MGBs, before they went rostyle.
