Well I'm pleased to say after a sh*** week going all over looking at cars we've found a one 7 miles from home! Collecting tomorrow afternoon so reggie can be tucked away under the carport again.
It ain't a BMW but it's purchased to work and tow the horse box.

They're a good workhorse Dave, looks tidy too.
I think Kia use their own motors, the one in the Sedona wasn't fast but pulled like a train.

I've hated every minute of this search mate. Really don't enjoy changing cars anymore. Find it a real chore if I'm honest. Hopefully will get some good years out of it. Idea is now to keep the freelander as I can't prize Jue out of it! When that dies it's natural death she'll have the Kia and I'll start again. Hopefully not for a good while tho!Looks really clean Davejust the job!

Thanks for your help as always mate. It's the uprated engine. The earlier models were 138bhp. 06 onwards they became 168bhp. Pulls very well actually. Happy with it as got quite a bit newer than we were looking at for the budget.They're a good workhorse Dave, looks tidy too.

Might be a while mate, my sister had a TD4 and never serviced it. Finally went pop at 250000 miles.

Ours is a 1.8 petrol done 130000. To be fair to it it keeps going. I've had to do the odd thing to it but nothing major. Paid £700 3 years ago. Can't complain! Jue loves it as she doesn't have to worry about it.
What £700 buys you! Not a bad old bus.
Mines the Freelander 1 TD4, love it. Nice motors all round, I think.
The 1.8 is meant to be crap. It is terribly underpowered but I rarely drive it so that doesn't bother me. It had the head gasket upgrade done before we purchased it so hopefully it'll tick along a while longer.
The 1.8 petrol is surprisingly pokey for a small engine. For £700 it'll never owe you a fortune mate.
