Several years ago someone in the USA was selling on EBAY a swivel fitting that allowed the Z3 mirror to sit higher thus giving more viewing area for the driver. Sadly, this person stopped offering his device so, my question is, does anyone know of such a device as I feel the existing mirror is oversize and obstructs a drivers view.
Hope someone can help me out, Freddy

I know what you are talking about, just can't remember who it is at the moment! If I remember I'll pop back later!

i can remember these mirror thingys, miy reasr view fell off one hot summer day and fell into the footwell, i fished it out and put it on the passenger seat with the intention of re-attaching it. 3 weeks later it was still on my passenger seat, its surprising how much it obscures. funny thing is i hadnt noticed how large the mirror was untill i didnt have one=))

Chaps,
Thank you for showing me the sort of mirror I want to replace the standard issue with.
Please advise how you managed it, or if you did not fabricate it yourself, where can I get hold of the necessary swivel fitting.
Thanks again, Freddy

this is the mirror getting fitted up with the mount in the listing, it has the rubber window sucker removed, this was before i realised the ball on the zed mount is the same size as the one pictured here, so it was a simple case of popping it off the plastic tomtom mount and pushing it over the zed mount.

in the bottom pic you get an idea of how it was constructed.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your photo's. I wish I had your ability at lateral thinking to come up with such a clever idea myself. I don't understand why you made templates for the mirror as there are numerous elliptical in the market - is it because the mountings are too incompatible?
I have ordered the Ebay attachment and maybe all will become clear to me then. Enjoy the weekend, Freddy
