Due to be travelling up from Somerset for thevSilverstpne Classic so in preparation just encase I have the misfortune to get a puncture any recommendations for repairs as the spare wheel idea must be a last resort

Tin of puncture repair or you can buy plug kits for a permanent repair.

I carry an aerosol type puncture repair kit. Think it was about £12 from Halfords

As above, used one on my Punto years ago and they work well.

Tyre-Weld is on offer for £3.50 somewhere at the moment but I can't remember where. It's the up to 16" size.

It's one of the market leaders and has been very effective the 2 times I've used it.

Doesn't the aerosol use effectively "kill" the tyre though, in that it can't then be properly repaired (assuming the damage is repairable of course)?

I used it on a run flat that no one will repair anyway. And a tyre that didn’t have much life left in it.

I would be more hesistant with a newer tyre. But then even if it does scuff it, weigh it up with using the spair and carrying the wheel on the lap of your passenger. And danger of driving on a silly skinny wheel.

I believe it can be repaired just fine but must be cleaned first and I suppose garages don’t want to clean it properly (must be sticky?) and rather sell a tyre. I would have through it’s only then hole where the rubber plus would go that would need cleaning and the area where the tyre seats to the rim anyway?

Good topic and reminder to get some of the plug kits. The only fast puncture I had on the Z was from an Ikea Allen key and the hole was too big for the tyre weld but would have plugged up just fine if I had some...
