@Shortie_gal still looking fabulous! Have family down south so might be possible to get down for one at some point! Definitely might be interested in getting some time in the shed, some real wizards involved!

My paint work is probably too embarrassing to be seen yet though

Looking forward to seeing the developments on your zed, more horses are always good

Dont be silly, the zeds go to the zedshed in all sorts of dis-repair! Getting it mechanically sound is more important than the paint work first right!?
Theres a big event happening soon -sun Sept 29th. The south downs run starting at BMW head quarters. Always an excellent run and turn-out. You should see if you can come down for that!

Lol very true I’d rather have the mechanicals sorted before worrying about the paint! I’ve clocked the day of that one but I may be away, loads of work travel coming up and most of it is right over to the other side of the globe so is ruining quite a lot of weekends :(

I’d love to make it down though, I’ll do my best, the South Downs are lovely used to walk round there as a kid. No proper hills though :)

Just a small update:

Been a number of jobs building up for Sam’s zed. Finally had some time to get them done.

Fitted the winter wheels so I could get the TSW’s re painted. Made it sit so low to the ground also was so nice driving on bouncy tyres.

Look how clean they now look.

Another job I’ve been wanting to do is refresh the cooling system. New belts, water pump and thermostat. Notice the new pump has the metal impeller, it’s been know that the original plastic impellers fail.

Old one, guess it’s orginal as it has the bmw stamp. Not bad for 127,000

Shot from above showing the thermostat removed and the pump removed.

Picture show all the old bits. All in good working order actually.

Another job I’ve been wanting to do on Sams car is get a steering wheel from Jack at royal steering wheels. Such a nice bit of kit, we went with the alcantera sides. He’s also just doing the gators in alcantera to match.

Couple of jobs waiting to start, brake upgrade to the 300mm discs. This is using the E46 callipers and carriers. I’ve also got to upgrade the clutch as the thrust bearing has started wining. I’m holding off on that as we might drop a 2.8 lump into her instead. So watch this space :D

What model number are the wheels @Lee? Very tempted to look for a set, they look mint.

Thanks guys. Originally they are an Z4 offset wheel. Wheels are a light weight wheel made by TSW called Bathursts 18” it’s running 15mm spacers to fill the rear arches more. Front tyre is 225/40/18 and the rear is a 255 tyre.

Lee, is the rear a 255/40/18 or did you have to drop to a 255/35/18?
