Fi has much nicer rounded hips than Willow... you started it mate :poke:
=))=)) I will never like the face lifts mate they all look like 1.9s .....skinny . I think the BMW designers looked the original and said "How can we f*** this classic design up?" Each to their own though.

I spoke to an indie earlier this week as I had to drop off a car for some work. He said Z3 values had risen, but only for very ‘nice’ cars as the good ones are getting harder to find. He sells a lot of Zeds (3 & 4) and is worried about finding good cars in the future.

I asked about pre & facelift, he said it’s more about the car than anything.

Low mileage, really good bodywork, including underneath are key. Number of owners, not so, it’s all about condition...

Now then, the only colour is the absence of colour . ..... Cosmos Black. Pre-facelift and mine's worth £1,000.000, apparently. Even if I won the big one I wouldn't sell Bella as she's my favourite child. My actual children are deemed to have cost me in the region of £250k from 0-18 years of age (I have 3), so by that i think Bella is a bargain :D

I think the only thing that devalues a good Z3 is the amount of M badges @Nodzed =))

The only way to maintain the value of your Z is not to use it, everyone wants low mileage. I prefer to enjoy driving it and to hell with the value. :)

I do agree with that. But I have a beautiful low mileage 3.0 that I want to treasure. So I’m thinking of buying a second 3.0 with more mileage that I can Just enjoy And drive everyday.

I agree. My 2.8i has done 26k miles since new. We bought an 2009 E89 2.3i with just 20k miles from new and we will put the mileage on that one.

I’ll try and keep my annual mileage down to around 1k and enjoy the E89

Can't understand the car investment mentality I'm to selfish - for me cars are there to be enyoyed and there's no way I'm keeping the miles down so someone else can have all the fun.
I sold my Z4MC in March because it was to much fun and I thought I was going to kill myself. Bought a 54 plate 3.0i Z4 automatic which was great but nowhere near engaging enough. Then bought a manual 2.5i facelift which was lovely but a bit to much of a posing mobile for me. Ended up in T86 KJF which as an M44 has the least bhp of them all but is the most engaging and fun to drive and just feels like the right car for me. So that's 4 cars in 4 months since lockdown begun with never a thought for how much money I could make and only an interest in how much I would enjoy ownership. Suffice to say the £40k Tesla Model 3 I have as a company car never gets a look in and has been stuck on the drive all that time unless I need to take the family out

We may as well enjoy them now as we really all need to go electric eventually, and what with the climate crisis, it could come sooner rather than later. Another 20 years you'll only be able to select the exhaust sound you want, pumped realistically through your 'electrics' (standard) high class sound system. Petrol cars will inevitably be only for the wealthy, maybe later considered obscene!

Drive em whilst you can boys and girls - maybe there's a flip side to grabbing any classic now. Will combustion engine cars inevitably become worthless or will there always be a supply of fuel to drive them and rarities keep appreciating?

Wait....someones forward thinking doing an EV Z3 on here...narrow body rockets past Z3M body.o_O
