Rebody Pingu's Kit Car Project

I just wish someone did a Daimler SP250 kit, the Daimler Dart, I'd be buying a 3.0 or M like a shot to convert. It's been my most wanted car since they first came out (shows how old I am). Reasonable ones are in the £40k+ range now and really good ones over £50K. OK I'm not a big fan of one car pretending to be something else, but the Daimler really is beautiful so I wouldn't mind being a bit hypocritical

I know what you mean about pretending to be something you aren't. It's like an ///M badge, but on steroids :D .

Ideally, I'd be doing something totally unique, but I got an E in art and "a man's gotta know his limitations" ;)

Nice seats :)

I might change my mind about fitting MGTF ones after all.

Good shout

Oooh a Dart would be very nice. If they did a decent big Healey my wife would authorise a second naughty car. There are modern interpretations around but I prefer the earlier models that even had 4 pot engines (in the body style).

My father was in the motor trade so in my younger days I had quite a few cars which I wish I still had (some I'm glad I don't) these included a two tone blue Healey 3000, Mk1 E-type, Lotus Elan and a 246GT . But then of course we have to grow up. I never did get to have a Dart.:(I'm after a nice Triumph TR6 now another I wish I had never sold.

With you all the way on the TR6. Beautiful car. Cant agree about the Dart though. Pig ugly in my view.. vive la difference though.

I'd have thought that a Healey body on a Z3 could be possible, but a Dart would need to be based on something smaller (maybe an MX5).

The key is keeping the build non-IVA - and this means the windscreen rake has to look right and the external panels have to be bolt-on.

Lovely videos to watch :p
Looks like the Z has good tyres :)

Brilliant Gary, I'm very envious of your 4 poster:D.
I'll be following this thread with great interest;)

Great work Gary. Nice to see someone doing something different....

When I started working Timing and Scoring for the SCCA back in 1964, there were 2 SP250s racing in the San Francisco Region. I always liked the looks of them. That would be an awesome kit!
