or transfer it between vehicles, the docs must go via Swansea and they are quoting 2-3 weeks.
Ah, that would be me then! Did come back a bit quicker than it should then...

I took my driving licence, v750,mot and insurance.

But insurance wasn't need.

Your old plate goes on retention.

They do that automatically.

They will issue you a new mot straight away.

Get plates made and put on.

Inform insurance.

Job done.

It you've just bought a plate (like Macca) it's dead easy
When you come to transfer it onto another vehicle it gets more long-winded
If you are going to sell a a car that has a cherished number on it, the general advice is to put the cherished number on retention. (£80 transfer fee + £25 retention fee)
You then have your cherished number on a certificate and the old/original number displayed on the vehicle to be sold.
When you get your new vehicle, the retained number can then be assigned to it immediately.
 
The dvla also do the tax disc for you :)

Hi just got the docs through... if I use B4 U US.. Instead of B4 UUS Do you think I will have problems?
