Hi all,
As I've just fitted an OBC to my Zed I thought I'd go the whole hog by fitting the temp probe. I'd heard the loom is somewhere under the air filter housing. Ive looked everywhere and cant find the damn thing. Anyone out there know where its hiding?
Thanks.

I think you're looking on the wrong side. From memory the spare connector on that side is the large air con plug.

You should find it by tracing the loom after it goes across the front panel. That's where it is on the 2 cars I've looked for it.

Am I right in saying that the probe goes on the passenger side next to the fog light.
By front panel, do you mean the slam panel in front of the radiator?

No. I'm saying it's on the driver side. And yes, it should be in the vicinity of the fog lamp.

Front panel/slam panel/radiator support are all the same thing. The panel on the front of your car ;)

Oh OK. Is the plug easily identifiable.

Easy enough yes.
Hi @mrscalex, might this be it by any chance?

Found it by taking out the washer bottle. Next question, where does the probe fit on the car? Obviously within the cable length of the loom.

No I don't think that's it. It's more slender than that from memory. Have you not got the probe to offer it up?

You're in the right place though?

There might be different connectors across the years. But my recollection is something like this.

It's a more oval connector. Like the indicators and side lights. I think! I'm currently away to check.

No idea where it's meant to mount. I would think in the vicinity of the bumper grille but away from direct air influence.

From another forum.

The ambient temp sensor is located next to the driver fog light, behind a black plastic panel, which has a little hole for the probe to stick out.

On ours it is top left of the opening below the number plate. There is a small hole moulded into the plastic and the connector has a yellow plug could be taped up near the horn?
Pretty poor photo will try and get another

It might be. But I've removed the sensor from the driver's side on a breaker. And the project car I'm working on also has it on that side.

That's a facelift. Maybe it's the other side on a pre-facelift. Maybe it's a different connector.

Can only say what I've seen on my own cars.

But there's only a small number of spare connectors. And they shouldn't be difficult to find.

Searched for a probe online and found one that shows the shape of the plug, looks like it could be the one.
