Does anyone know how to release the union plunger on the PAS pump? It’s closing the pressure valve so there is no pressure in the pump. Suspect debris as the fluid was not properly flushed out so impurities might be causing it. The plunger is down at the moment and I’m not 100 💯 sure how to release it. Any helpful advice very welcome . Thank you

What was the issue with the rack in the end? I’d be interested in talking to you about who you used for the restoration and the costs.. maybe when we finally meet up for our ‘Something in the South’ 😁

Sure, I'll be happy to chat to you about it. It was debris in the system as the system was not flushed properly. I don't think the garage expected the system to be so contaminated. Anyway, I've since replaced the pump, rack, and the reservoir. If you are going to work on that part of the car, I'd use extra two litres of he fluid just to give it a proper flush!

Most steering rack suppliers will only warrant their items if there is a system flush included in the bill.

Tony.
