I have an intermittent airbag light on my ‘99 2.8 pre-facelift. I also have a Bluetooth OBD plug and a B800 eBay special, plug in code reader/code clearer.

Neither of them seem to work when plugged into the OBD port under the dash, with the B800 unit flashing an E10 code back at me (unable to connect to ECU). I’ve also tried using the adaptor and plugging into the port under the bonnet, but again all I get is the E10 code response.

Any ideas what I need to read my ECU from the port under the dash? Would love to find out what the issue is with this airbag light.

Thanks in advance.

B800 airbag reader will only work from the round 20pin socket under the bonnet, the 16pin OBD under the steering wheel will only read the engine module.
Check the pins in the round socket are clean, spray some electrical contact cleaner on the socket, allow to dry anf retry your B800, maybe someone on here is close to you and have another 20pin to 16pin adapter to try just in case yours is duff. Can you read the engine for codes using the 20 pin and adapter and your other code reader?

Cheers. Will do. They looked clean but will check again. My other code reader is a Bluetooth 16 pin OBDII v-link unit I use on my Mini with Bimmercode. Sometimes works with the under-dash port connection - sometimes not.
