Now you know why.

I've had a good few cases damaged and a few wrecked over many years of business and leisure travel. I now buy best compromise I can find between sturdiness and price. I certainly don't buy top branded stuff. The one I have now came from Tesco and has survived for two years now.

We do the same Robert. It's difficult finding a compromise off lightness and sturdiness, we also try to find a ditinctive design for ease of spotting on the carousels, but it's the way to do it.

Tony.

This was on the BBC this morning. Still, i bet, if they sack the guy there will be national strikes :bored:

(There was no mention of the perp being disaplined or fired !)

Was watching loading and unloading of bags at Naples airport yesterday and they were being handled as well as you would expect and hope. Of course that was in plain view of the terminal. You don’t know what happens elsewhere.
It did however take 90 minutes to get our bags when we arrived.

It occurred to me that having big heavy bags works in your favour. Throwing 25+kg is a great deal harder than 10-15kg.

We always split things across bags and don’t use matching cases whenever possible. Hopefully that reduces the chances and impact of bags going on a different route from you.
