Unfortunately I had a accident today on the M1. Over taking a car in the middle lane this morning in very poor conditions and it decided to switch lane and smashed straight into the passenger side of my cab.
I managed to hold a straight line and get across to the hard shoulder quickly. Fortunately the car driver did the same so although it was early rush hour, around 6.30 no one else was involved.
The car was in a right state with both doors and front wing wrecked, he'd hit my n/s/f wheel which had worked like a can opener.
When we got talking the driver admitted to having no insurance. There was the smallest scratch to my cab and no other damage. The rest lies in the relavant hands. Just goes to show you never know what is going to happen when you leave for work. Please be careful everyone. It could have been so easily a hell of a lot worse.

At least your ok mate not the best way to start any day but it shows you that there are idiot's out there!
Could have been worse lucky for everyone else it wasn't !
 
I imagine that after your heart rate got back to normal, things like Insurance become less important if no one is injured. Crap way to start your day though mate.;)

Yes did s*** me up mate, think the insurance was a lot more on his mind than mine, as he didn't have any!
 
Dave your lucky.

Having no insurance, I would like to see his car taken away and crushed.
 
Sounds Like a bad day all round then Dave. you had a small scratch and no doubt lost some driving time, he on the other hand may have lost his car? Good thing is you're both OK.

No excuses he shouldn't be on the road uninsured! Great that your ok and didn't have a more serious accident to deal with
BUT sorry I would want him booked and off the road.:nailbiting:

His car would have been written off anyway but it's off to the crusher. No injuries incurred and as you say that's the main thing.
 
Three cheers for @Grumpy !

We should be congratulating him for "taking out" and uninsured driver without causing harm to himself or any other innocent bystander.

That's one less clogging up our roads.

He will be Zed. He was a foreigner so maybe he didn't have a UK or European licence. He was Iranian or similar I think.

I'm glad to hear your safe and well Dave.
Life is far more important than metal.
I remember my first car before i could drive my mom used to use the car during the day and would pick me up after work for me to drive back home to get some experience one day she turned up in her car asking why. she replied I've been involved in an accident. I asked was she ok mom replied I'm not hurt.
Mom said why wasn't i upset. it's just metal Mom. I think she was relieved
