Doubt if a dashcam will see more than my eyes can, so can't see a problem,

How are you guys writing these up ?? Or just plug to cigarette socket
Got a piggy-back connector to an ignition-controlled fuse in the box, just a bit of fiddling to do to get the wire in place neatly. And waiting for Amazon to deliver an SD card. May not bother with this "uploading to Youtube" malarkey, not a lot of any interest in the lanes around here, not like these sophisticated city-slickers with their town driving stuff.![]()

One of them, maybe. Just leaves the fiddly bit to do. Can't remember which fuse I used, one of the ones that comes live with the ignition on.
In a Z3 you can run the power supply cable behind the headlining across to the n/s pillar. I split some w/washer tube and put this round the cable to make it fat enough to stay behind the headlining.
Run the cable behind the door seal rubber down to the bottom and behind the glove box. I used the ignition fed live for the radio to tap a feed for this,

Just connect the red into the radio ignition fed live and ground the black cable to earth.
Plug your camera feed cable into the plug and secure with a couple of laps of tape. Then secure the connection and any excess cable up behind the glove box with cable ties.
Tony.
Thank you. That sounds easier than going through the bulkhead to the fuse box.
It is, much simpler. On a Z4 it's easier still as the fuse box is behind the glove box inside the cabin.
Tony.

Same here on my wife’s 1 series, stupid idea BMW. You can see inside the fuse box but once you stick your hand in there you can see sweet FA.try fitting one in a 1 series. This fusebox is behind the glovebox through a hand size hole.
Once you stick you hand in you can no longer see the fuses you are looking for... and there are 3 sizes of fuses. (not fuse ratings, physical size difference) Stupid design.
I spent over an hour trying to locate an ignition fed fuse.
