New Topgear.

Thanks for the review on show 2. You've saved me the time and waste of energy myself :D
Entirely as I expected sadly.

I hope the BBC don't wait until show 3 goes out before changing something. Considering the mega zillions that CE earns and the months of planning so far I hope someone has the nouse to put some him right and get some changes in soon.
The extra version on BBC 3 is far superior.

another load of dross then did not bother watching and wont now:( in my eyes CE was always s**t anyway=))

I didn't even like hes radio show but I do like radio 2:whistle:

I have to say I enjoyed top gear, there is a lot of far worse crap at times on the idiots lantern (t.v.).

I really enjoyed this week's episode. Matt le blanc is very good, so were some of the guests.

Chris Evans is the weak link I think. However he is really well connected so they might finally get the Ferrari and mclaren scoops that the old lit couldn't

Too late for that , it will be on Amazon in the autumn if you can believe what you read.

Tony.

I enjoyed watching top gear tbh,the guest presenters this week were good especially sea sick Steve :). They're all new to this and should be given a fair chance......just my opinion . C.E is a bit too shouty but he is a petrol head, and I think when they've settled in to it they'll make it there own and the program wiil improve.
Sorry if I have repeated others words, not had chance to read the whole thread yet.

I would agree it it wasn't for the fact that CE is supposed to be an experienced presenter and they have had a good while to develop the programme and its format into something new and exciting.

Just seems a very lazy copy format at licence payers expense.

I think it was the guests who made it almost ok on Sonday.

Tony.

ps. Apart from Eddie Jordan he's a knob.

watched with an open mind , it seemed to lack something. There seemed to be a false reaction from the crowd in the studio almost as if someone was holding up a board saying laugh or cheer. will carry on watching to see if it improves.

Saw tonight on MSN a report suggesting LeBlanc is to be offered another contact but the GT isn't. Suits me.

Tony.

I watched the first episode today and agree with the comments about CE being shouty. Seemed to be trying to emulate JC too much. Matt was far better as a presenter. They might settle down after a few programs, we'll see.

No spark, no structure, no wit, nothing in it that made me think "thats better than before" but a lot to think "why have they done that", including the change to the track - what a complete and utter useless waste of time. It wasn't broken in the first place so didn't need fixing.

I grew up in the 90's so to speak so CE doesn't really bother me but he isn't cut out for this show, it shows how poor he is in comparison to all the old 3, not just JC. MLB is not too bad and could probably have filled in for the original cast if they were off sick or something.

As for the extra programme - pointless. "oh... whats different, I know lets make an internet programme"... yawn... and the presenters on there have as much charisma as the crap they removed to make the previously mentioned dirt track.

Top gear was always the program that the rest wanted to be. 5th gear is original top gear re-invented... thats why its rating are counted on fingers and toes and it is shown on sky channels between cartoons and soft porn. Car SOS is good, but would be 1000 times better without that p***** Tim... and For the Love of Cars is better as the presenters are more charismatic.

Looks like I will be using my Amazon prime account for more than free delivery of parcels this year...
