Ok
door handle rubbers - on order
aerial grommit - delivered (this weekend job)
Aerial arrived - dont know if I can get thread of old aerial out of the boot unit ? - any thoughts well received ?
rear wheel hubcentric spacers 20mm - because I think they just look better slightly wider in arches
(do I place some sort of anti corrosion paste between wheel and spacer and then spacer and wheel?)
Rear tyres can I get a less "flabby profile" of 225s ? or can i fit a narrower tyre ?

No I wouldn't, you shouldn't put anything between two machined parts that need to be absolutely true, just some on the hub flange that sits inside the wheel center. ;)

I always apply copper grease on the hub before fitting the hubcentric spacers. You may need to remove them at some point to change brake discs and if they get stuck it's very easy to break the thin centre which the wheel sits on. Two differing opinions, your choice;)

Tony.

Try our resident breakers @spurs fan in a coupe or @Synclare they usually can arrange parts.

Hello everyone,
I have just purchased a 2000 Z3 2.0 6 cylinder.
Black nice condition, a few little dings and broken bits but with your forum I am going to work my way through them.
Looking forward to bringing her back up to scratch.

I know it may be obvious but you do know that you have to put your foot on the brake for the roof to work ? I had a dealer make that mistake

Belated hello and welcome from me. You seem to be making steady progress through your list of jobs.
A couple of questions you asked early on. Change gearbox oil? Yes and diff. oil. The BMW "for life" did not anticipate it being 20 years on and still going strong. Plenty of posts on here regarding correct oil specification to use, or get in touch with Opie oils for their recommendation. Also rear beam bushes replace? Again - Yes! Due to the age of our cars most of the rubber parts have deteriorated, so check all of the rubber bushes on your suspension (www.realoem.com is really useful). Have a look at the Zshed posts also to get an understanding of what is involved. Then there is the question of whether to polybush or not?
Welcome to the world of Z3 and empty wallet syndrome. We can always find ways to spend your money......by the way if you are doing bushesyou might as well look at suspension dampers, mounts and springs.
Enjoy!!
