Welcome to the forum from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey......................FrankieQuick hello
Just purchased a 1998 z3 2.8 manual in silver.
Long history, good body work , good roof but tiny bit of rust on the arches / sills.
Planned jobs
Rust , this is tiny atm. Could I get away with spraying something over it ?
Seats are sliding forward , new heated seats or bushes.
M50 intake to release some more power ?
Hardtop - would love one but due to cost this will be one the last things.
Floor matts , could do with new ones.
And obviously a service!
Ps from northern ireland
My Lord.... Surely our first owner to have Taken the Ermine! A 2.8 litre Manual Roadster, a carriage worthy of a Peer of the Realm!
I too have a 1998 2.8 litre Roadster, but alas am a mere commoner, striving for higher Rank!
A Toast to all 2.8 owners, whatever their station!
Bonzo.
Shame, thought we were going posh!Hehe the name is only a bit of fun, certainly no lord!
Spot weld failures are certainly a concern. I would get the sill outers off and check that the sill inners are still sound before spending out on getting the spot welds issue sorted. Costs could mount up if sill inners require major work as well.
Yes, £230 for both. If you get them painted (they come in black primer) removing and refitting the sills is not difficult. Allow a couple of days to complete due to drying time for rust treatments and protection.thanks @roadvoyager1 really useful info in terms of the costs. Re the sills, is that 230 for both ?
I have the car garaged atm, so ill prob let it sit until i get someone to look at the welds, then see who can tackle the sills. ( If its too much for myself )
