Deposit paid on the next daily shed, which is not really shed like (or at least I hope it isn't!) It's very nice, never owned an Audi before but their personal lease deals are just soooo tempting. Been wanting to get back in to an auto for ages, and the Corsa was "OK" but just not doing it for me. It's fortuitous as my daughter has just passed her driving test, so she's getting the Corsa which meant I needed something to replace it...

2017 Audi A3 Sportback - Sport 2.0 TDI 150 PS S-tronic, ex-demonstrator in Nano Grey with 15k miles. As far as I can see it's fully loaded. Xenons, Cruise, Sat Nav, bluetooth, climate control and electric everything I wanted. And decent cup holders!

Just needs it's pre delivery checks and a valet and I pick her up Friday morning...

:thumbsup:Very nice has it been serviced if it's on variable servicing resets to 2yr 20k I tend to get about 17.5 - 18.5 k before lights on .
Comes on quicker is short journey use or letting screen wash run down or not opening bonnet semi regular ( car uses all these things to determine whether or not the light comes on ) assumes if you don't open bonnet and top screen wash up etc that you don't maintain brings service light on faster same as driving style cold start hooligan driving will drastically shorten service period apart from that good motors :thumbsup:

Was told that it needs doing every annually or every 19k - which fits in nicely with my mileage. My 70 mile round trip is half dual carriage way and half back roads, so it's not going to get driven that hard. so can't see an issue with needing more than that.

@GazHyde will you actually clean this one... =))... nice car though. My Audi A4 a few cars back was a nice motor. Very smooth. Just the servicing costs were a lot more expensive than VW.. even if it was the same bloody engine.

As a range of cars Audi are my favourite, no real duffers in my view. Very nice.

Gail had one of these (manual though) for a few years before the E89. No slouch and will easily and comfortably eat up the miles on the A34. Never had any problems as fas as I recall. Unlike the A4 Avant I had - brilliant car but a money pit.

So.... I may have a new daily later in the week... I'll post up and show you all when I've got it home. No clues though :D

I've loved driving this little beast - 21000 miles in the last year, but not having a weekend car means I can splash out a little more on my daily driver.

There is nothing more exciting than announcing a new daily shed! Need a spare just in case the M is off the road for repairs or upgrades and also have a new job so may be an uptick in mileage. Woke up Sunday morning straight on to Autotrader and by 1pm I'd put a deposit down on this just down the road. Picked it up Monday and have done about 150 miles in it and it's really good for an 18 year old car. Interior is pretty much mint, bodywork suggests it's spent a lot of time in public car parks, no untoward noises and everything works. Clad in finest cheap ass budget tyres with plenty of tread, but it has cruise control and ice cold air con.

I've been looking on and off and it appears the days of me picking up a £1000 diesel beater are gone. I could have saved money by going for something French, but I have standards.

Can't beat a VW TDI PD engine!

The market has gone crazy. Got a new daily so I was finally allowed to sell the the wife's 120k Citroen C3 Picasso in snot green. Thought it would sell for £500 quid at most and was amazed that they are on AT for £1500 to £2500. Put it up on a Sunday morning and it was driving out the street by 3pm

Good Luck with it Gary. Remember the first time you met me what I was driving? I Owned 6 VW's over the years, 3 of them Rabbit Diesels. one 4 speed and 2 5 speed. Got 55 mpg with the 5 speeds. Used to forget when I had filled it up. Could keep highway speeds but you couldn't tear up the track with it. Was OK pulling out into traffic with it. Kicked myself later after selling the last Rabbit. Gas prices went up and they you really pay through the nose. VW's usually hold up pretty good. You'll pay higher for diesel but reap the rewards with the good mileage. Haven't talked to you in a while. Hope all is good with you and the family..........................Frankie
