Yes, my father lives in Weybridge and I hate the 'dreaded bridge'. Each time I have to visit, I curse.Hi Justine
Good to hear we are neighbours on the opposite side of 'the dreaded bridge'. No doubt our paths will cross in the near future.
I have very recently purchased a Cabrio Shield just like the one in the picture but I have the standard one without the fleecy lining!
I am very pleased with mine and it is on the car almost 24/7 but I do take it off regularly to air the interior. I understand it is not advisable to use it as a permanent cover as condensation can build up and cause mildew so taking it off every few days should keep things in good order.
At this time of year leaving the hood exposed will mean that algae will grow on the fabric particularly where water accumulates. This can be tiresome to remove so definitely best to keep the hood dry with this type of cover especially important if the hood is already in good condition.
The Zed is my fifth BMW and like you I intend to keep it in good condition and I make time to keep it clean both inside and out.
My view on the local BMW dealers is they are not really interested in cars of this age group and so it is best to find an independent garage with
older mechanics who have the knowledge and understanding of these very special cars.
My Zed is a 1.9 1999 Orinico SE with 61500 miles on the clock after 15 years so there is plenty of driving to go yet!
Regards
Mike
