I'be just looked on .net (without signing in) and someone has posted that Pangster has been banned from Bimmerforums.

I have to wonder if anyone has complained about his posts and the accusations that he has made. He did make a (bad) name for himself on .net but I can't help thinking that he did make some very valid points.

As I said in a previous post, Tim and I fell out a few years ago, although I remained a member of .net and occasionally posted

However, I don't think posting about bad management and lack of progress on the update did me any favours and I'm now banned. I had no notification so I don't know if it is permanent or temporary?

On the plus side, all this kerfuffle seems to have stung him into action, so the promised update may now happen?

Too late for me. Despite all of the requests for details of what has happened to the last batch of donations made when he requested them back in September 2010, he did not see fit to reply, merely deleted the thread (along with one or two others).

I know that in the scheme of things, my donation was a small one, but it was made in good faith in support of .net.

We now have .org which is growing on a daily basis, with Admin who listen to the membership, without whom the Forum is useless. Long may it continue to grow and become 'the' net based resource for Z Roadster owners.

I'm intrigued as to why members feel the need to view .net whilst not logged in ?

it isn't a crime, Admin from.org log into .net as usual.

Have any of you seen this thread about that other Z site on Bimmerforums? :|

I have been kinda sitting on the fence about this but must admit that is a little damning if to be believed. :(

Still sitting on the fence for the moment though :-\
I'm with Aceman for the time being - keep looking at both forums. As far as the sponsorship request in Sep 2010 is concerned I have been back and looked at the original post:

Given the problems we've experienced with hackers, the plan is to migrate the forum to another format, either the later version of pbpBB, or alternatively VBulletin which is something I would need to buy a licence for.

In the meantime I've been hit with a bill from the ISP (Active 24) for over £1100, some of which predates the last load of problems with the site. I'm hoping to negotiate this down but could do with some contributions to help out...
My reading (and I may be wrong) is that the sponsorship asked for at the time was in respect of the bill from the ISP and presumably that was settled as .net continued on-line for over a year until the latest problems. If my money was used to pay the ISP and keep .net on-line for another year then personally I haven't got a problem with that.

OK Humble Pie time - can I say thanks to .net, what a useful resource ;)

One of the members is looking for "BMW Z Series: The Complete Story (Hardcover) by Mick Walker" - I have a copy (not for sale though)

The reply says Amazon have used copies from £75, up to £168.46 :-o

Made my day :D :D

The publisher asked if I would write the complete book on the Z3 - I declined and posted on the forum to find a suitable candidate.
Wonder how many copies were printed.

I'm pretty certain that was the case also, but all Tim has to do is come back with an answer of yes, the donations were used to pay the ISP bill. And future donations will be spent on so and so etc.

What's the problem with giving the answer, makes me think he is hiding something. It wouldn't be in the situation it is at the moment if he would just give an explanation.

I still use the site and still log in as usual, but its so quiet on there and if I go on after a day or so with out logging in, the new post count since my last visit used to be in the hundreds, now its more like 10. Almost all of the regulars users and posters on .net have now come over to here :D

I'm waiting to see if any of the admin team over there will make the move, or if they will be too embarrassed and end up posting between themselves on .net because they are the only ones left :-?
