Sure man will stick your name on them. The driver side headlight has a few broken tabs. We’ve done a few in-house Z4 light mods but they’re a pain to build.
Nice! Yes they are a pain! Have you done Z4 or Z3 lights? Send me some pics please! Always nice to see other people’s work!

Fab, thanks for saving them. I’ll swing by when I can!

We had a super productive day today. Subframe dry run assembly and all the brake lines are done.
Ahh bummer! Should have swung by this weekend! Never mind, looks great! Can’t wait to see things starting to come back together! Hope to be back soon!

We’ve done a fair few Z3 headlights and a couple of sets of Z4. There’s a lot of risk involved with doing both so we advise people do their own.

Z3 lights are best done in the oven on a low heat to soften the glue so you can open them up.
Z4 lights you physically have to cut in half and bond them together after. I’m sure we have a thread somewhere doing them.

Making break lines are a pitta. Such a messy job.

Luckily both fronts were quite short.

the rears were a little more complicated.

We gave the slam panel a rust/primer coat. Gary impressed himself doing this.

finally the exciting set of photos of the day. Assembling the arms.

First up are the new bearings.

the diff is torqued in place but the rest is fitted by hand. We still need to add the hubs with handbrake assembly.

Seeing it this nice makes us all question why are we selling it :D
Looks very impressive…………

If you love it, you'll fix it. It's worth it for you. I had a wooden boat 37 ft and
I took seven years to rebuild it. Never got tired or discouraged. Tonnes of
happy hours and personal achievments. I don't think that you will regret it.
There will be lots of negative comments but just harden your skin. It's your life.Good luck and happy times.38690017.JPG

Nice big juicy update. The rear subframe is now in :D

We finished the front end so she’s now ready to be bled. Looking so clean up front. We fitted a set of brembo discs with matching pads.

we also got some satin black on the front slam panel to tidy it up.

this was a good time to go round and lightly rub down rust spots we spotted. Nice to keep the the chassis strong for many years to come.

We then moved onto the back. We needed to cut the old bearing rings off.

then fit them with the new dust shields onto the arms.

we then fitted the drive shaft and check with the abs sensor. We’ve had issues in the past with aftermarket shafts and rings not lining up with the sensors

Looking factory fresh! Well... apart from the missing body panels!

Have you contacted StrongFlex? Did they send the wrong ones?

I didn't bother, these are unbranded. I tried to get some info on bush orientation and got some broken english responses.

I would certainly consider eating my dinner off that, if employing the '5 second rule'.

How are you finding the quality of the Strong Flex bushes? Kinda heard bad things and avoided them when looking for bits last year.

Oh right, I thought they were all StrongFlex. I guess only the red is StrongFlex?
Still looks good regardless. Good job all!

Really? I've not heard any bad press? I've just ordered some lollipop bushes from StrongFlex. And want to use them for a few other areas under the car too. Be interested to hear/see where you heard the bad things?

@KiNG A YouTube called 'Pamo' has an e36 328i who has done various things to his car. Amongst them a rear subframe assembly. I belive they might have been strong flex but I could be wrong.

Personal experience is always the best way to go.

Only a little update today. We rebuilt the rear callipers, got all the brakes re connected, replaced various bolts with new BMW replacements. We also torqued up the subframe and various other bits. Prop also went back in.

Rear callipers stripped.

all looks so good. We now need to sort out the rotten heat shields and make a decision on either a replacement exhaust or fix the flanges on the current system. We also have 3 more body panels to buy plus the black interior.
