My montreal 2.8

I have one … but cant remember the details at the moment…

at Crawley v Fulham

I’ll get some pictures tomorrow and find the details of if. Its just a half cover

got mine from uk custom covers before I had a new roof. I bought on their ebay site and am sure there was a trick to leave it in your basket and they would then offer discount...cant quite remember but was £72 last year...probably gone up a bit since then.

Hi Paul,

Mine is the same one from Custom Covers ( near Fareham in Hants )

It covers the roof only and locks down using the doors and boot ( and wipers) it also has a magnetic strip each side that hold it down along the doors and rear wings

Just fitted it on my car … first time its been out of its case!!!

Also velcro strap round the mirrors and magnetic edging along both sides

Ok, just overheated on the drive home.... no obvious leaks in the system. Tiny bit of spray onto the engine cover from the expansion tank.

Thoughts?

Thermostat faulty, not fully opened and restricting circulation.

Tony.

Ok replaced the thermostat last week, still overheating. I switched everything off and listened, I could hear hissing from the aluminium housing i put on a year ago, i guess it had warped a little.

Fitted an oem housing today, just done a 20 mile run with no issues. My temp gage is sitting perfectly in the middle and its blowing hot air when idling.

Result!

Oooo an mot fail here. Headlights knackered, replacements ordered from a breaker. Hopefully they are OK.

Handbrake not holding properly.

Easy fixes car should be back on the road in a few days

Handbrake will probably just need shoes / cables adjusted straightforward enough .
Headlights only 4 bolts to change.
That's not bad if that's all it needs Paul.
Stephen .

Most likely they weren't adjusted properly. Most people don't slacken the cable adjusters before adjusting new shoes, either through idleness or lack of knowledge. Which usually means when there is no reserve on the handbrake you have to start at the beginning again.

Tony.

Lovely z3. Always liked Montreal. Hope the MOT went well. Where in South West Scotland did you intend to buy a home?
