The car has been laid up in my garage for around 3 years and even the year before that it probably only covered a few miles.

I have struggled to find the time to do much with the car but did strip the front end and take the slam panel to the bodyshop for a freshen up. I also tested my electric pusher fan and completed the viscous fan delete.

Whilst stripped down it made sense to do an overhaul of the coolant system so I bought various service items with every intention of working my way through it but with time constraints I decided to get a mobile mechanic to come and do the job for me.

So, the car had the following work undertaken:

Castrol Magnatec 5W-40
Comma Xstream G48 coolant
ATE TYP200 Dot 4 Brake fluid
Crossland Oil Filter
Bosch Fuel Filter
NGK Laser Platinun Spark Plugs
Meyle Water Pump
Wahler Thermostat
OEM Power Steering cooler line
Meyle Drive and Aux Belts
INA Drive and Aux Belt Tensioners

I have also removed all of the bonnet opening mechanism and purchased new replacements from BMW. This includes the springs, latches, catches, both bonnet cable pieces and a Doug Whalen Bonnet Release Lever.

As is always the case, whilst everything above went to plan, the power steering return pipe sprung a leak and being pressurised it made a bit of a mess on the drive.

I've ordered an upgraded replacements for the return and supply pipes from Zedonist so hoping the car will be mobile again in a week or two! I also ordered replacement/improved tank straps from fellow enthusiastic, Mazza, whilst they're still available to buy!

Looking forward to sharing more progress over the next few months.
