It's taken me some time to work my way through the leather Z3M centre console retrofit but I wanted to make sure the conversion was done properly, without splicing any of the factory loom.
The use of the OEM Z3M gauge harness was fundamental at reducing the amount of work, so massive thanks to Southernboy for the tip!

A post by D-reame was also invaluable at determining what each of the wires on the above harness related to.

I figured the best way to wire in the gauges was by splicing into the headunit adapter loom, this way the conversion would be fully reversible. I also took the opportunity to wire up a 12v to 5v 3A dual-USB adapter, which would provide a source of power to the USB panel at the rear of the console.
A pack of generic loom wiring, some spade connectors and a lot of crimping later...
With the heated rear screen switch and USB panel at the rear of the console, I decided to relocate the roof switch to the front. This could be done by unpicking the factory loom tape and pulling the wires back through to the front of the console. For whatever reason, the spare slot within the centre console had tabs which needed to be trimmed out to mount the switch, but this took just a few moments with a sharp craft knife. All the new wiring was tucked under carpet as per original.
The wiring for the air and oil temperature sensors has been routed to the bulkhead (behind the glovebox) ready for connection, however the interior side of things is complete...
P.S. I still need to fit the correct handbrake release button; unfortunately it doesn't fit over the standard chrome button so I'll need to order a black plastic version from the dealership.
