I live in the countryside, which is lovely......but we sometimes get the odd visitor in the house and cars........in the house we have 3 dogs and a cat so they don't last long!!!.......but in the car, who knows how long.....anyway, i removed my gear-stick gator today and found that a mouse has been in the car and stripped a lot of the wires for the electric window switched, hazard light switches etc.........my question is can I cut and join in new cable between the 'bites' and if so does anyone know what the size and resistance is of the cables. They all look the same size to me but are very thin. Thanks in advance for any help

@Boysie had a rat in his garage.....

Discovered that mice had made a big nest right on top of my engine.
Their pee has taken off the paint of the rocker cover and they had nibbled through a few rubber connections, the oil pressure gauge is not working, i have ordered the new rubber cover connectors from munich legends, I'm wondering what to do with the rocker cover.
A new one cost lots of money, or try and have it painted. loooked on ebay no luck
I have lost so much in the garage, fishing tackle eaten car, cover on sprite eaten, thinking about insurance claim
I have a brand new arm rest from Justroadster in box ready to fit thats been eaten as well

My engine bay was as clean the outside of the car if not cleaner,
i suppose that was the attraction.

This is what happened to my Triumph, destroyed the dash electrics, and the two hats in the glove box were made into a nest.

This damage to my son's house is believed to have been caused by a squirrel that gnawed a hole through the facia board and got into the roof. No dead squirrels to prove it though.

I also live in the sticks and mice and rats become a problem at this time of year, I set mouse traps in the garage and out buildings and have a live rat trap set all the time, its actually a live Mink trap but catches rats really well, I have to destroy them though, came out the other morning and there was a Black cat in it,

If I remember rightly, it cost @Boysie about 1500 quid to get it fixed.

Munich legends comment
Six nests found
It was mice and rats, some of the dropping were huge :-s
too large for a mouses rear end "not those words exactly"

You'd think that THIS would happen to the mice or rats when they chewed through the wires..............................Frankie

Its one animal that I actually enjoy shooting, I have hunted for years and found it harder the older I get, its been 15 months since I shot anything other then a rat.

How are your feelings about slow drivers in the fast lane?........................................Frankie
We don't have fast lanes, only overtaking lanes. A retrofit 20mm cannon is a desirable accessory on UK motorways!:)

I find my .22 takes care of Rats and Mice very well. I have an agreement with my neighbour too. I shoot the rats that get into he chicken runs and get a good old fashioned cake out of it. Works very well. Nothing like a little pile of seed in front of a breeze block hidden behind the shrubs for a back stop. I find it more humane that leaving out poisons.

Any Sparky will tell you that to get an electric shock you have to make a or be part of a circuit, so you have to be in contact with a live and a neutral or earth source before current would flow. (through you!) The higher the resistance path the less the fault (shock) current will be!

When I changed the Cills on Z3lda I found a mouse's food store of sunflower seeds ( which I feed to the birds) inside one! I think I posted a photo of it somewhere on the forum!
