DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird survived a drive-through penalty to open the 2017/18 Formula E season with victory around the streets of Hong Kong.

An all-British team will compete in the IndyCar Series for the first time next year after Carlin Motorsport confirmed their entry in the American event.
The Surrey-based team entered the Indy Lights Championship in 2015, winning the title the next year with Ed Jones.
British driver Max Chilton, 26, who raced in America with Carlin in Indy Lights in 2015, rejoins the team after two years in IndyCar with Chip Ganassi.
Carlin will also race in the new Formula 2 Championship in 2018.
Chilton, who raced in 35 Formula 1 grands prix for the Marussia team in 2013 and 2014, finished fourth in the Indy 500 last season after leading for 50 laps.

1st of May this year it will be 24 Years ago that Ayton Senna died, Christ, I remember it like yesterday ....
Me too Mike, it was the day after we got home from our first visit to Florida with our Carla. Roland Ratzenberger died the same weekend if I remember correctly.

The double amputee finished third at Oulton Park on Saturday in his first return to action since his horror crash nearly a year ago. “If you had told me that I’d have been on the podium at the first race of the year, I would probably have said you were lying to me,” Monger, 18, said. The teenager requires further funding to ensure his Formula Three seat for the remainder of the season, but on the basis of his latest performance, he should not have any trouble in securing the financial backing.

The lad has a strong and positive mind and clearly good people around him. He's doing well.
I couldn't agree more Andy. I wish him well mate. A horrible thing to happen to a young lad, but it seems like he's well on the mend.
