Mot time

You could remove the surface rust on the pipes and put some rust primer paint on them which should keep them from rusting further.

Should I consider doing any of the work on the advisories?
Bushes mainly. Rear sub frame bushes are a huge job aren't they? I don't have the time knowledge or tools to do it so would have to be done in a garage.

I would not worry unduly about the rear subframe bushes Davy, they have to be totally f***ed to fail the test. Now, IF you want the car to be like it left the factory that is something else entirely. The brake pipes you can clean with a soft wire brush GENTLY though, and then grease them. Bear in mind that whatever you do to clean them will make them slightly thinner and slightly more likely to burst under extreme pressure.

Just wondering if it would make any difference to the car at all?
I'd rather spend my money elsewhere at the moment.
Considering an m50 manifold swap :ymdevil:

I have no doubt that a driver may say that replacing those worn tired old bushes will make a difference to your car's handling Davy, but, if you don't drive it like you stole it spend your money elsewhere if that's what you want to do. Once you have made the car go better then you may want to improve the handling too.

To be fair the tester was a decent bloke, loved the dog, he said he would run it till they are a fail then get them done.
I think it can be put at the bottom of the list anyway.
New rear window first now the nice weather is coming so the hard top can go away.

To be honest mate, that is the main problem with our M.O.T. test. It is mostly down to a tester's own opinion re the "faults" on cars. Our RBT (roller brake tester) broke last Saturday so we have had to take tests to another garage until ours is up and running. I had to replace two front lower suspension arms on a 56 plate Honda which hey had failed and I honestly could not see why. At best, and then at a stretch, I might have advised that they were deteriorated.:(

In the hope that the customer asks them to carry out the work possibly?
They didn't even charge me to adjust the lights and refit the number plate. Good guys!
