How much are the overhead charges to release car from auctions.
Do you mean the indemnity fee you have to pay on top of the bid price when you buy?
If so it's over £600 on a £12,500 purchase.
That guarantees you title to the car, or your money refunded, if something goes wrong with title ownership. Ie, if it turns out to be stolen, or owned by a finance company.
If you know someone with an account it's much less. But sorry. I closed my account years ago.
If you're referring to unsold car entry fees from one you've entered then I'm not sure nowadays.
But just call them if you want to know for sure.
BUT NOW A WORD OF WARNING IF YOU'RE BUYING FROM BCA, or any auction.
This applies to non account holders, bidding goes quickly at many auction centres, and the auctioneer will be very aware of their regular buyers. So if your not a regular to that auction be quick in your bidding, you hesitate and the auctioneer will bring down the hammer in favour of a regular buyer.
Now this has worked many times in my favour so I'm not really complaining as such, as I was a regular at a couple of centres, but it's also wasted whole days of mine when I've travelled far afield to buy one specific car when I've been ignored by the auctioneer if favour of one of their regulars. I can't tell you how frustrating that was when I'd driven hundreds of miles and committed that day to buy that car.
It's not so much as a problem as it used to be for account holders any more as most now buy online in the live auction sales, but if you're a private buyer in the hall be very aware.
Also another warning, it's been known for traffic police to hang around some centres to check people when they're leaving for tax/insurance etc.. Something I actually agreed with, a few less uninsured drivers on our roads is a good thing.
