Tiny update. Was down the unit having a tidy up and stock take. Still scratching my head with the drive shafts, we are struggling to find anyone who can make a Z3 drive shaft.
Diff about to get a deeper clean.
Bench cleared to assemble the subframe.
Not many bits left. Just a pile of receipts.

Nice big juicy update. Been squeezing in a few hours here n there. Finally got a whole day on Daves Zed today and made huge progress. Success! We finally have a supplier that make high quality drive shafts that fit.
Back end of last week the subframe was assembled but minus the drive shafts. The guys fitted the subframe while I was working Saturday. Leaving me today to hit the ground running.
Today I started getting the front end buttoned up. Least it looks more like a car now
then the main event fitting the drive shafts and getting all the fidderly bits in. First some photos of the drive shaft fitment.
High quality bolts and tabs.
ABS ring in the right position.
then all the other bits could go in.

She’s very nearly there now. Some fluids to go in on the diff, rad and power steering system. Arch liners prop shaft still to go in. Very very nearly there

Cracking job by all concerned. Probably one of the best Z3s in existence. Not long now for you (Lee) to put it through its paces.

It'll soon be tazzing round the Peak District collecting a new coat of underseal courtesy of the sheep and cows!

They're doing an amazing job on the car Dave, but I can't see you just standing about admiring how clean it looks. Cars are for driving and I hope to see you and the car out and about before too long. 
Major milestone met today. Finally nearing the end of the biggest build we’ve under taken thus far.
Brakes were built and bled, prop shaft and exhaust fitted. I was keen to give the engine a start to see if we had any snags, having removed it a few weeks back it’s good to know where we are. Safe to say she started right up and a dash clear of lights. Was then a good opportunity to fill the radiator fluid and power steering system good check to see if we had any leaks.
Looking crazy clean.
beam bushes sitting nice n high.
leaves up with a few under trays to fit along with spare wheel. Left her idling and warming up also gives the shocks a chance to settle.
Not had her test flight yet but will do next week getting the MOT done and with wheel Alignment.

Awesome! Fantastic job guys, surely the best 200k plus miler Z3 on the road.
Test Drive day. All went well with nothing to report, quite unheard of really, we normally have a few bits that need looking at. I’ll do a longer test drive tomorrow.

Sounds good to me, fingers crossed it can take the bashing your now committed to give it as normal drive shows nothing.

Yes. Of course you will. Spoken like a true gentleman. Sacrificing your own time to go for a test drive in possibly the best z3 in, well, anywhere. Don't forget to put the top down. Some nice roads. Maybe stop off for a spot of lunch. That test drivin is hungry work y'know. In fact I think we should pop round, form a queue, and we can all sacrifice our time to take it in turns to er, test drive it.
