Made a start today

He'll turn up in his juggernaut Lee.;)

Tony.

Can I come and play! :D
There aren't as many tea breaks at the ZedShed Dave, once we've had our bacon roll it's nose to the grindstone. No time to play... :p

Oh not interested then Gaz! Tony has taught me to break for tea at least once every 30 minutes! =))

Don't know if it'll fit on Lees street Tony. Now it would fit outside yours nicely!
Well bring it loaded then mate, plenty of room in the back garden.;)=))

You'd do well with enough profile to build 600 windows and 80 conservatories!

Oh no mate, you'd be over there flogging that and I'll be back at home making the tea!=))=))

@t-tony I got a gas fuelled soldering iron similar to yours recently. Bought a twin power outlet and fitted it in the van tonight......a practice exercise before I set to on Bob (the zed).
It's great,no more dangling wires to the dash cam and sat nav. Should have done it ages ago.

Only one little hiccup, thought I had found the perfect switched live......which it was till I turned the blower fan speed up or down and the dash cam switched off =)).
So luckily I hadn't cut the wire but just parted the insulation so unsoldered it,taped it up and found another wire :D.

Whilst I was digging around the wiring I found a fair size inline fuse, when I opened it up it was marked as "tracker" with the logo. I wonder if it can be lived up again ?.

Sorry mate can't help with the tracker thingy. Above my pay grade Steve. Have you wired your dash cam in with a cig. lighter extension like I used?

Emailed tracker uk so hopefully may get a reply.
Yes pinched another one of your ideas .
It's just a twin power socket with two short wires attached so I extended them and sited the outlet on the overhead storage shelf so it's out of sight but easy to access.
Where is best to site the outlet on the zed Tony ? I seem to remember yours is behind the glove box/dash?.

Yes, there's plenty of room around and below the glove box mate to locate the plug/socket connector. I always put a couple of laps of tape round it to keep the connection secure too. I have a dash cam to fit in Shirl's car soon. In the Z4 the fuse box is right behind the glove box and it comes out with 6 self tappers and gives easy view of the fuses to find an ignition fed one. You can do the same on the Z3 but you have to run the power wire through a grommet in the bulkhead ( firewall to the US members).

Would you like your "Add-a - fuse" back?;)

That's what I used mate.:)

I can bring it to ZEDfest if you can wait till then? I'm thinking of using a similar idea to feed my rear facing camera (hopefully before Sept. 11th) and also my Fridge for the boot ........................ :)
