Made a start today

Got an early finish at work today as the joiner and plasterer were where I needed to be .
So with my new Powerflex diff mount bush gathering dust in the shed thought I'd have a go at fitting it :nailbiting:.

Got the rear of the car jacked up on the diff, axel stands under the sills but left the jack taking the weight of the diff to aid removal of the mounting
bolt......it's a bit tight under there with the original back box being huge.
But by jacking up the near side rear wheel the diff drops down a bit more and gives enough room to work :).

The old bush took some getting out with some of it staying stuck to the metal ring, which was the next thing to remove after cutting a groove through it with a hack saw blade .......not easy when you're lying on your back under the car :hungover:.

The old one looked ok to me tbh till I wrecked it whilst removing
so old one out,new one in.....took about 3 hours on my own so not as bad as I thought it might be :).

I must say that if it wasn't for seeing how others on here had done it and being there when @t-tony fitted @Grumpy's with @Antm72 at Zed Shed Midlands I most likely wouldn't have attempted it.......so thanks chaps :D.

Steve
Good post  let us know how it drives following the swap. Got a bit of clunking myself ... on the Zed that is

Well done Steve, new skills being learnt all the time. What's next?;)

Awww tell me please, pretty please, Tony. Were off on our camping hols on Sunday (to France, @Grumpy, we like it there;)) and may not have any access to the interwebythingy. I can't wait for 3 weeks to find out...:(

At the risk of being :offtopic: even more (sorry Steve), that's a great idea Tony. However it'd be much easier if you just told me now;)

All I can possibly say, without fear of incriminating @Bozzy , is that they were delivered in a plain brown box .................................. ;)

Well done shorty! It is awkward. Would be an ideal job on a ramp. Bet you feel chuffed with yourself mate.
Cheers happy feet, yes have to admit I did feel quite chuffed....but only cuz it all went well and the only damage done was to the thumb on my rubber glove .

Steve

the thumb on my rubber glove

OK, so answer me this one then Steve. How can you make a hole in your skin (bleeding) and not make a hole in your glove?

Tony.
