Lewis Hamilton.

A superb race and one his best wins :scorecard:

If he keeps going it'll be difficult to surpass his achievements.

On a rubbish track (surface wise that is) the cream will always rise to the top. Very happy for Vettel too:thumbsup:

Tony.

Lewis Hamilton....meh.

I miss Reubens Barrichello...didn't often win but came over as a lovely guy.

Ideal team mate for Schumacher then, just like Eddie Irvine.

Tony.

The question now is will he be Knighted in the New Years Honours list? The flood gates have opened to many over recent years, based on his driving achievements and his other equality drives he should be a prime candidate.

Kelly Holmes
Andy Murray
Mo Farah
Jessica Ennis-Hill
Nick Faldo

To mention but a few.

Overdue @andyglym, when you look at the list of Knighted sports personalities who have achieved far less. Don't even get me started on the likes of Philip Green etc, who seem to have been Knighted for lining their own pockets at the expense of others.

This lad gives significant time and money to a variety of Charities. Looking at the way it's done today he's a slam dunk for me.

:mad:Sorry dont agree that any person be honoured just for doing a job they love and getting paid millions for doing it, and sod off abroad to beat paying tax into the exchequer whether sports people or actors when there are incredible people doing amazing things out there (in the real world) that are unsung heroes and get naff all recognition. Should LH or any of these other celebs be knighted? Not in my opinion, their millions and pleasure of a gifted lifestyle should be reward enough. Give the honors to people who really make a difference in this country.

Oh don't get me wrong, I agree but the flood gates were opened some years ago that let numerous sporting personnel into the club. Going by those that have gone before he's a slam dunk.

I should be Knighted for services to Autoglym =))

Definitely agree with what you say @Nodzed, but unfortunately the honours are not handed out by us! Based on how things are done at the moment Hamilton should be honoured in line with other similar achievers. Is Sir Jackie Stewart , for example, any more deserving of a Knighthood?

No Jackie Stewart was no more deserving IMHO or any other sports person. Beedy eyed little Scotsman. It needs to stop somewhere.

Although Jackie Stewart did more to increase driver safety than anyone. I would give him a gong for that tbh.

Tony.

Agreed. The problem with the system today, in my view, is that people get them to early. A sports person that has been globally successful should only get one in later years once they've done lots of other good stuff.

Yep I'd agree with you on that Tony deserved recognition probably saved countless drivers lives, but not for just being an F1 WC.

Hey guys. jumping in here, but I have to agree with Nodzed, whereby LH spends his time and tax money outside the UK.
We had a similar situation here in Ireland whereby a certain rockband decided to relocate their offices and company to the Netherlands. After all the Irish folks had done to support them in their early days when no-one knew them, to leaving our shores to save a few pounds (euros) especially when the recession set in and we could do with all the revenue we could get. I was a big fan up to that point (in saying that i should not say too much as i do work for them). I can only guess that they had their reasons. But to give a countries high honour to the likes of LH, under those conditions, is certainly questionable. However i do add my congrats to Lewis, what a driver. It will as one of you says, a very long time before we see the likes of him again. And he is not finished yet!!!
