Fantastic achievement, the most successful F1 racing driver of all time. 7th World title and won with another impressive drive today.
One in the eye for Ferrari Tony, love it.On a rubbish track (surface wise that is) the cream will always rise to the top. Very happy for Vettel too
Tony.
This lad gives significant time and money to a variety of Charities. Looking at the way it's done today he's a slam dunk for me.Overdue @andyglym, when you look at the list of Knighted sports personalities who have achieved far less. Don't even get me started on the likes of Philip Green etc, who seem to have been Knighted for lining their own pockets at the expense of others.
The question now is will he be Knighted in the New Years Honours list? The flood gates have opened to many over recent years, based on his driving achievements and his other equality drives he should be a prime candidate.
Kelly Holmes
Andy Murray
Mo Farah
Jessica Ennis-Hill
Nick Faldo
To mention but a few.
Oh don't get me wrong, I agree but the flood gates were opened some years ago that let numerous sporting personnel into the club. Going by those that have gone before he's a slam dunk.Sorry dont agree that any person be honoured just for doing a job they love and getting paid millions for doing it, and sod off abroad to beat paying tax into the exchequer whether sports people or actors when there are incredible people doing amazing things out there (in the real world) that are unsung heroes and get naff all recognition. Should LH or any of these other celebs be knighted? Not in my opinion, their millions and pleasure of a gifted lifestyle should be reward enough. Give the honors to people who really make a difference in this country.

Agreed. The problem with the system today, in my view, is that people get them to early. A sports person that has been globally successful should only get one in later years once they've done lots of other good stuff.Although Jackie Stewart did more to increase driver safety than anyone. I would give him a gong for that tbh.
Tony.
Would have won more often had it not been for team orders favouring Shumacher.Lewis Hamilton....meh.
I miss Reubens Barrichello...didn't often win but came over as a lovely guy.
Yep I'd agree with you on that Tony deserved recognition probably saved countless drivers lives, but not for just being an F1 WC.Although Jackie Stewart did more to increase driver safety than anyone. I would give him a gong for that tbh.
Tony.
