Keep you lot guessing.

Thanks Mint, PITA just can't make it sound like POC no matter how I try, what about a coat of something to protect them, any idea. Maybe just leave em in my garage and just sit and look at em cos I hate it when I get to the wheels when cleaning.
Roy, I prefer a good carnauba paste wax and over the years have tried many different products but the wax seems to last best and easily removed and replaced. A bit time consuming at first but you should get 2-3 months of ease of cleaning. Check out my recommendations in the polished wheel thread. If you're going out on a particularly crappy day a quick shot of spray cooking oil and the junk hoses right off. JIM

I use poorboys wheel sealant. Gave mine about 5 coats. Just put them on the car then washed it and water is just running of them. Looks to be really good and has excellent reviews

Cheers Jim, I'll Nick some of her cooking oil this week while there's plenty of it, as for the wax can I use the wax I've just bought for her hardwood kitchen tops. Could be saving some pennies all round. No???

Rha i will bring my poorboys tomorrow so you can seal them. I dont need any more till around begining of july

Hay billz, is this a leg pull, poorboys wheel sealant, do you mean the bathroom clear sealant I got cheap from B&Q.

No its def not from bnq. Its rally easy to put on just need to put a layer of polish on first then just put a coat on take it off and repeat over 4 days

Nice thought billz, but sadly the wheels came too late to get them fitted by my tyre mate, you know the score, when you've had a mate take care of all your tyre needs over the years it's just not on to take em somewhere else. He's done it for years and given good service and advice so deserves all my loyalty, thank you for the thought but would like a look at the product.

Its best to coat them off the car as it is so much easier. If you want what i have left then your welcome to it.. i will just get some more nearer the time for me to recoat. I dont like leaving stuff like that for long and reusing once it has been opened. I will bring it with me and you can see what you think.

So glad I joined .org with all you helpful people on here, can't wait to see if my Intinerary will get me round again, did contemplate swapping it for yours but would mean loss of confidence, will be use your advice in future once I've mastered it.

Yes, the higher the percentage of carnauba the better as that's what makes the hardness once applied. But take a look at poorboys, it's not a product we have here. What you are wanting to do is keep the oxidation process from taking hold with a barrier of some sort. Even when the wheel is virgin and Uncoated the second they are exposed to the atmosphere they are already oxidizing. And definitely better done off the car where you can set the wheels somewhere comfortable. Don't forget about the inner wheels they are actually the most susceptible part. HTH JIM
